What happens on an Inner Awakening Retreat?

On this transformational retreat, the experience begins with some pre-adventure journaling work so that you can start exploring your questions and intentions. What are you looking to get out of this adventure? What is missing in your life? How would you like your life to be different? What would you like to ask your higher self?

One to two weeks before the journey, we meet on Zoom and start getting to know one another.

During the first day of the retreat, we will do some guided meditation to discover inner emotional blocks that are getting in the way of our success, as well as some intention setting for the week.

We are participating in the 2 ceremonies at the beginning of our retreat so that we have sufficient time to process and integrate before heading back to the real world.

On Thursday, the night of our first ceremony, we head over to the beautiful ceremony space around 6:00, with the ceremony beginning around 7:00. Each participant meets with the shaman for a consultation. The shamans talk for awhile to prepare us for the journey and help us understand what to expect and share some important housekeeping information. I have worked with this medicine family for years and trust them completely.

Once the ceremony begins, we are given an ounce of tea, which is a thick dark liquid with a consistency similar to molasses or cacao. Everyone lays down quietly on their mattresses and allows the medicine to move through the body. It takes about 45 minutes for the body to fully respond to the medicine at which time you may have one of four things happen:

  1. Visions
  2. Consults with loved ones who have past, spirit guides, ascended masters
  3. Sensations in the body including sweating, crying, yawning, vomiting, going to the bathroom, laughing, vibrations
  4. Nada—fall asleep and experience nothing

The medicine creates a profound altered state of consciousness that typically lasts 4-6 hours. The experience varies widely between individuals. Between the two ceremonies, you many experience all of these or only one or two. In theory, the nada is when you are healing ancestral trauma and do not need to know what is happening so that it does not traumatize you. In this tradition, the nada is considered a gift.

After a while the shamans call participants up for another drink. If you are able and willing, it you can drink more to deepen the experience. We will spend the entire night at the ceremony space so you have plenty of time to explore. After about 6 hours and depending on how much you drink, the medicine wears off and you fall asleep.

When the sun comes up, the shamans provide us with intentionally grounding tea and soup. Soon after, we head back to the retreat center to shower, nap, journal, and sit in the pool or hot tub. We will have a formal integration circle after lunch to help process the experience. It is in talking about it that we can make sense of what we experienced.

At 6:00 pm, we head back to the ceremony space and do it again. It feels like the medicine is learning about you and clearing your system the first night to prepare you for soul expansion the second night. However, everyone’s experience is different.

After the two ceremonies, we will enjoy yoga, sound healing, past life regression, and guided journeys. We will hang by the pool and hot tub, sit in a jungle sauna, and allow our body, mind and spirit to process what we just experienced in ceremony. Lalinka is doing FREE QHHT Quantum Healing Hypnosis Sessions for anyone interested. Nicole will be there to do incredible body work for anyone wanting to add that service.

For 5 adventurous souls, looking for even more expansion, we have the option to participate in one grandfather medicine ceremony working with the same medicine family. This medicine is a root from Gabon Africa and is helpful in connecting with your higher self. In my experience, I spent 6 hours having a direct dialog with my higher self and have enjoyed a much clearer connection to my higher self ever since.
